Mr. Floaty was Buddy’s flotation device. It drifted off every winter for warmer waters. One year it — or he — returned in a box.
Wit of the Years-long Staircase
My intent was to show that nothing changes for Lumpy when Spot imagines rain; he’s still under the toad stool. But looking at it this morning, I think it would have worked better to have Lumpy say, “I wished for sunny skies and now I’m stuck in the shade.” Check in a few years from now. I might have something better.
